Impact-Resistant Windows & Doors

Reaching back for at least 5 years, R.L. James, Inc. has been involved in a number of projects along the Southwest Coast of Florida that have included installation of impact-resistant windows and patio doors.

In late 2005, it was determined by our management to move further to the forefront of building restoration efforts in our marketplace by aligning ourselves with one of the premier manufacturers of these products as a distributor/installer of PGT WinGuard and Multi-Story windows and doors.

Much of the product line that we now represent is manufactured in Southwest Florida at PGT’s manufacturing facility in Venice.

An interesting quote: “If only more people knew… PGT has installed over 1 million WinGuard units with 0 impact failures.” This statement is based on no reported failures through the prolific hurricane seasons including 2004.

PGT WinGuard and Multi-Story products, installed by personnel of R.L. James, Inc. to the manufacturer’s strict standards, meet both State of Florida and the very restrictive Miami-Dade Protocols for hurricane-force wind resistance and resistance to penetration by flying debris. In addition to storm protection, however, these products can be further counted on to reduce interior noise, provide year-round security against intruders, and contribute to improved energy efficiency reducing heating and cooling costs for the homeowner.  And, they are “on the job” all of the time, with no special last-minute preparations required in the event of a hurricane situation.
