Partner – Gary R. Wasser
In 1993 Gary earned his license as a Community Association Manager and worked for 10 years as a condominium manager on Longboat Key. During this time some of his responsibilities included the oversight of many painting and restoration projects. Having worked with a variety of contractors he was most impressed with the professionalism and quality of workmanship of R.L. James, Inc. The relationship Gary developed with the company and his interest in the painting and restoration industry eventually led to his employment with R.L. James. His unique insight from the customer’s perspective has contributed greatly to his success in the condominium market.
Gary joined the R.L. James team in 2003 as a regional representative in the Manatee, Sarasota and Charlotte county areas with the primary responsibilities of estimating, bid production, customer relations and sales. Gary successfully grew the company’s market presence increasing sales by over 300% requiring the need to add over 30 employees to meet the demands. In 2008 he was promoted to the role of sales manager adding the task of overseeing the company’s sales and estimating staff in addition to his existing responsibilities.
In 2008 Gary joined with a group of R.L. James investors to purchase a 1900 s.f. office and warehouse space to accommodate the companies’ growth and more efficiently supply projects in the region. In the past two years he successfully expanded into the Tampa/St. Petersburg area adding over two million dollars in sales in 2009.
Gary has served on the board of directors of the Florida West Coast Chapter of the International Concrete Repair Institute since 2006 and was just elected to serve in the role of Treasurer in 2010. Gary earned his B.S. in Economics from Trenton State College in 1984.
