CAULKING
& GLAZING

Sealant and glazing systems installed to manage movement, prevent water intrusion, and protect commercial and multifamily buildings.

SEALANT & GLAZING SYSTEMSSYSTEMS THAT PROTECT THE ENVELOPE

Caulking and glazing are huge control points in the exterior envelope. When joints, transitions, and openings fail, unwanted water entry and structural deterioration often follow. Our work focuses on sealing the places where buildings move, connect, and open, not cosmetic patching.

We handle caulking and glazing scopes across complex exterior conditions, including:

All work is planned to align with other exterior systems, including waterproofing, coatings, plaster, and structural repairs. Proactive work helps maintain property condition and minimize avoidable long-term repair costs.

DESIGNED FORMovement, Installed for Longevity

Effective sealant and glazing work begins with understanding how a building moves. This service is delivered by Blanchard Caulking & Coating and RL James, Inc., the specialized sealant and glazing teams within RL James Exteriors.

Where projects are engineer-led, our teams perform installation in coordination with owner-retained engineers and in accordance with approved project guidelines. These crews evaluate joint conditions, exposure, and movement characteristics before selecting materials or methods. Sealants are chosen based on joint design, expected movement, UV exposure, and compatibility with surrounding materials, then installed according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.

SAFETY ANDEXECUTION STANDARDS

Site management personnel complete OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour training and maintain active safety oversight during installation. Field crews participate in ongoing training and internal safety audits to advance execution standards.
